The work is being done in preparation for a scheduled groundbreaking this summer by Phoenix Renewable Energy for a wood pellet manufacturing facility and a small generator power plant, with an investment totaling over $100 million. The crews were acquiring soil samples for environmental and soil compaction testing purposes. GTS is under contract with ALL Consulting to perform environmental sampling for the U.S. Army Corps, Tulsa District and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. EPA funded the phase two environmental testing for the development corporation.
