The Camden Area Chamber of Commerce is the voice of Camdenâ€™s business and professional community. It seeks to foster a healthy business climate and economy and works closely with existing businesses and industries to represent their interests. The Chamber promotes civic pride and tourism and hosts community events. Its Board of Directors employs an Executive Director.

The Camden Area Industrial Development Corporation (CAIDC) is a private, membership-basedÂ economic development corporation which owns, holds, leases and develops property for industrial development. Its property holdings include properties formerly owned by International Paper. Its Board of Directors employs an Executive Director.

Highland Industrial Park is the largest industrial park in a 5-state area with 15,000-acres plus and over 5 million SF of manufacturing and warehousing buildings. City of Camden
The City of Camden is the county seat of Ouachita County in southern Arkansas. The population of the city was 11,657 in 2007. The City elects a Mayor and Board of Alderman.
Ouachita County had aÂ population of 26,068 personsÂ in 2007. The county has a total area of 740Â square miles.Â landscape of the county is rolling hills, largely forested. The County elects a County Judge as its chief executive officer and a Quorum Court of 11Â members as its legislative body.
Southern Arkansas University Tech, a comprehensive two-year college of the Southern Arkansas University system. SAU Tech offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs designed for students who plan to enter the workforce, transfer to a university, or upgrade their skills in a specific area. SAU Tech also operates the Â Aviation Technology Academy, the Arkansas Fire Academy, the Arkansas Environmental Academy, a career academy for area high school students, as well as provides adult basic education in Calhoun and Ouachita Counties.
Camden Fairview Public SchoolsÂ
The Camden Fairview School District ranks 30th in the state in terms of student enrollment with approximately 3,000. The school district operates six school campuses. Nearly 50 percent of the 275 certified staff hold a masterâ€™s degree or higher. There are more than 125 courses to choose from in secondary education in addition to advanced placement courses. Many Camden Fairview students consistently score in the top five percent on the ACT and SAT tests.
